Abstract

A. Tourism Progress

  • In January 2022, the number of international visitor arrivals to Indonesia was 143.74 thousand, increased by 13.62 percent compared with January 2021. At the same time, international visitor arrivals in January 2022 decreased by 12.15 percent compared with the previous month, December 2021.
  • The room occupancy rate of hotels in January 2022 was 29.25 percent, up 4.75 percentage points from January 2021. In contrast, the room occupancy rate in January 2022 decreased moderately by 1.09 percentage points compared with December 2021. In detail, the room occupancy rate of hotels consists of classified hotel at 42.43 percent and non-classified hotels at 20.02 percent.
  • The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests at classified hotels during January 2022 was 1.60 days, decreased slightly by 0.26 points from the average length of stay in January 2021.

B. Growth of National Transport

  • The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in January 2022 was 3.9 million people and decreased by 2.61 percent compared to December 2021. The number of international air transport passengers decreased by 13.35 percent to 83.7 thousand people.
  • The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in January 2022 was recorded at 1.3 million people, decreasing by 5.30 percent compared to December 2021. The amount of freight transported by domestic sea transport decreased by 1.12 percent, turning into 25.6 million tons.
  • The number of railway passengers departing in January 2022 was 17.7 million people, which increased by 1.78 percent compared to December 2021. Whereas, freight transported by train decreased 5.85 percent to 4.2 million tons.
