Abstract

  • In January 2022, the National Wholesale Price Index (WPI) of Indonesia rose by 0.75 percent primarily due to the index of Agriculture Sector, which increased by 0.79 percent.
  • The price change in January 2022 was contributed mainly by purebred chicken, purebred chicken eggs, purebred chicken meat and purebred chicken meat with offal, liquid petroleum gas, palm/coconut kernel cooking oils, and filtered cigarettes with clove.
  • The WPI changed 0.75 percent in the 2022 calendar year and 3.10 percent year-on-year.
  • The WPI of Construction Materials in January 2022 rose by 0.35 percent compared to the previous month, partly due to the increase of prices of cement, stone for construction foundation, asphalt, sands, plasterboards, and PVC pipes.
